'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the squad everyone fears.

There's little doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' top picks to win the Premier League during this term.

Examine their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace versus those equivalent matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but dropped 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title target.

They lead the league for unbreached games (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), shots on target faced (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their effectiveness from free kicks is widely recognized, but competing clubs still find it difficult to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Claims

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far paid off in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with confidence and purpose.
