An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
